Dr. Gillian Greer attended medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama, and completed her family medicine residency training at the John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. She is board certified in family medicine and is certified as an HIV specialist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. She is employed by the Coastal Health District of the Georgia Department of Public Health and works as a primary care physician at the Chatham CARE Center, a Ryan White Funded Clinic, in Savannah, Georgia.

Andrea is a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in HIV/AIDS care. After completing her undergraduate studies at Florida A&M University, she earned her Adult Nurse Practitioner Certificate at Florida International University and her Masters of Science in Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner at Kennesaw State University in Georgia. Board certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), she is a Clinical Supervisor at Someone Cares Atlanta, responsible for managing the care of individuals presenting for PrEP, sexually transmitted infection screening and treatment, and HIV primary care.
She has extensive nursing experience, with the majority of her career in HIV/AIDS, which is her absolute passion. She has worked as a provider, educator, preceptor, mentor, speaker, and panelist. She began her career at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida in Medical/Surgical. Since moving to Atlanta, she has worked in various areas of nursing, including Home Health, Emergency Medicine, HIV/AIDS, Urgent Care, and Urogynecology. Her passion in HIV/AIDS led her to coauthor an HIV curriculum on “Adverse Drug Interactions of Antiretrovirals in the Emergency Department” for Emergency Care Nurses and a poster entitled “Use of the Emergency Department by the HIV-Infected Patient: Assessment, Education, Testing, and Prevention” presented at the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC) 17th Annual Conference. She also served as a nurse mentor in the capacity-building program Strengthening Our AIDS Response (SOAR) in Kwazulu-Natal South Africa.
She is a member of ANAC, the American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM), the American Nurses Association (ANA), and the Georgia Nurses Association (GNA). She has received honors from Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, Who’s Who Among Nurses, Grady Great 100, the Chi Eta Phi Sorority Nursing Achievement award, and numerous other community service awards. Very active in the community, she spends much of her time as a guest speaker, panelist, and volunteer at many HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention programs at AIDS service organizations, schools, churches, clinics, and wherever someone will listen.
